BEFORE SOLCO
There were horses here.
Tucked away just off Brook Street, Paddons Row has been part of Tavistock's story for much longer than Solco.
Before it became the little collection of independent businesses you see today, this hidden courtyard was once associated with the yard and stables of the White Hart — a reminder of an age when horses, travellers and trade moved through the heart of the town.
In 1984, the old yard was redeveloped as Paddons Row, giving these historic spaces a new life. Today it remains slightly hidden from the bustle of the high street — which is part of its charm.
